The management strategy for custodial care is focused on tight supervision.
The mission of the custodial staff is to provide the occupants of the building a comfortable, attractive and clean environment in which to work. This is to be accomplished with a staff of effective and pleasant cleaning personnel who have been thoroughly screened and trained in the needs of the occupants. That training is ongoing and accomplished through a system of very tight supervision that has been developed over the years by the executives of Cross Gate Services. Courteous, uniformed and dedicated cleaning personnel who are highly motivated and well managed will produce not only the cleaning results, but also the atmosphere desired.
Cross Gate utilizes the latest in all cleaning techniques in floor care in extraordinary traffic usage areas. This knowledge and background will be of great help throughout your facility.
While routine cleaning schedules and standards are mandatory in the proper cleaning of buildings, all of these will only become effective in implementation when proper supervision is present. The philosophy of Cross Gate then is to assign a top level manager who will have a building supervisor reporting to him. Adequate supervision time will be programmed into the working shift to ensure ongoing training and monitoring.
The custodial force will be managed with the belief that the appearance of the property is extremely important. It is imperative that a complete understanding be made by all involved that the property will constantly be viewed by the occupants and visitors alike. All inspections, supervisory techniques, schedules, etc. will be focused on the essential nature of the impression of quality. All cleaning personnel will be selected with this in mind and in the hiring procedures “appearance counts.” The personnel will be thoroughly monitored in the area of personal grooming, the use of mandatory uniform, and courteous and sensitive behavior.
